What to Expect From an X-Ray Camera App

An X-Ray camera app gives a familiar photo a surprising new look. With XRayly, you choose a photo and a style, and AI turns it into an effect you can save or share for fun.

With XRayly, you pick an effect, add a photo, and frame your shot. The effect usually takes about 45 seconds; then you compare the result with your original and save it, share it, or try another effect.

Here’s what changes in your photo, why results vary from shot to shot, and what the effects can’t do.

Expect an artistic version of your photo, with the mood and details of the effect you choose.

A new look for a familiar photo

The X-Ray effect can add cool blue tones, glowing edges, and imagined skeletal details. An ordinary pose can suddenly look like something from a science-fiction scene.

The fun is seeing how a photo you already know changes. Try an expressive pose, a favorite portrait, or another shot you are curious about.

Save, share, or try another effect

When the effect is ready, compare the result with your original photo. Save it to your photo library, share it with a friend, or use Try another effect to reuse your original photo with a different style.

Every result is kept in History on your device, so you can come back to it later or delete it.

AI adds its own interpretation

XRayly uses your photo as the starting point and generates a version in your chosen style. It can change colors, textures, shapes, and small details as part of that look.

The result may not preserve every detail exactly. Treat it as a creative take on your photo, and keep the versions that make you smile.

Different photos can give different results

A close-up portrait and a full-body pose give the effect different details to work with. Lighting, framing, and the visible subject can all influence the result.

If a result feels unexpected, try a clearer photo or adjust the crop. There is no need to chase one perfect result; experimenting is part of the fun.

How to Choose a Photo

Artistic effects made for fun

X-Ray, Thermal, and Night Vision are artistic simulations. XRayly does not capture real X-rays, measure temperature, or see in darkness. The details in the result are generated, rather than something the app has detected.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an X-ray effect take?

Usually about 45 seconds. Keep the app open while XRayly applies the effect. When it’s ready, you can compare the result with your original photo, save it to your photo library, share it, or try another effect on the same photo.

Can an X-ray camera app take real X-rays?

No. XRayly’s effects are artistic simulations for fun. The app doesn’t capture real X-rays, measure temperature, or see in darkness. Bones and other details in the result are generated by AI as part of the style, not detected in your photo.

Why does my result look different from the original?

AI generates a new version of your photo in the style you choose, so colors, textures, shapes, and small details can change. It may not preserve every detail exactly. If the result isn’t what you had in mind, try a clearer photo, a different crop, or another effect.

Is XRayly free?

XRayly is free to try with limited free credits. Pro gives unlimited effects and access to every effect. The app is available on iPhone and iPad from the App Store and on Android from Google Play.
